Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah works as an Indian performer, actress and musician. Her main work involves focused on Tamil or Malayalam films. Annayum, Rasoolum marked her Malayalam as well as Tamil debut. She debuted in Tamil with Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea Jeremiah, born to an Anglo-Indian family in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea Jeremiah's father works as a lawyer at the Madras High Court. She has a younger sister living and working in Leuven Belgium, as a Research Assistant. Jeremiah grew up close to Chennai, was a student at National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea, who began classical piano lessons at age eight years old, was called a "geek" and was aspiring to become a psychiatrist until the 12th grade exam. She joined The Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This group formed the foundation for her music and singing career. She also worked as a theatre performer in college. Andrea was the president of The Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea began her theatre career with Girish Karnad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she appeared in a leo commercial alongside actor Shiva. The actress also appeared in a TV show which was telecast on Podhigai. She has appeared in all parts of India. She appeared in a small role at the end of Kanda Mudhal 2005. After she rendered a song on Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vettaiyaadu the director asked her to join as the main female characters in his upcoming venture Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed. It featured Andrea portraying Kalyani a homemaker her husband who is caught in an affair, and then is blackmailed. Andrea was approached following Simran Shobana's death and Tabu. The film was released in early 2010. In 2011, she agreed to take on a small supporting role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha and it was premiered in August of 2011. Annayum Rasoolum, a romantic film directed by Rajeeev Ravi, released in 2013, marked her Malayalam debut.
