
Allison Brooks Janney, born on the 19th November in 1959, in America is an American actor. Over more than three decades, she has become famous for her roles in multiple genres of screen and stage. Janney received numerous accolades including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She also won seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was also nominated to the two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised at home in Dayton (Ohio). The actress received a scholarship for studying at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following her graduation from Kenyon College. After years of minor and not-credited appearances on television and film The breakthrough for Janney came from the character of C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC political drama The West Wing (1999-2006) where she earned 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. As a result of her role as Margaret Scully, a Showtime actress on the period drama Masters of Sex, Janney won this year's Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding guest actor in a drama Series.
