JoyceDeWitt first appeared on stage when she was 13. When she was 13 she began performing on stage. She received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from Ball State University. The director suggested that she enroll in UCLA's Department of Theater MFA program. The program awarded her the Master of Fine Arts Fellowship and the Clifton Webb Scholarship. Dewitt said that she had not had a conversation with Abe Vigoda during her time at UCLA. DeWitt is most well-known for her part in the series Three's Company's run from 1977 to 1984 as Janet Wood. This was a job that she got after being selected for the second pilot. Janet was also in an episode of the show The Ropers in which she starred in during 1979. DeWitt began her acting career in an episode in 1984 of Three's Company. Acting was her first return on stage in June of 1991 when she played a part on a Noises Off production at Michigan's Cherry County Playhouse. [1] Later she appeared on the TV comedy Spring Fling! Pinky and the Brain featured an character modelled on her voice by another actress in 1997. The actress appeared on an episode of Cybill, and had an appearance on the last episode of Living Single. A few of her 2000s TV works included Hope Island and The Nick at Nite Holiday Special as along with Call of the Wild.
