
Carol Lynley (born Carole Ann Jones 13 February 1942 from February 13, 1942 until September 3, 2019.) was an American actress best known for her performances in the films Blue Denim (1959) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972).Lynley was born in Manhattan to an Irish father and a New England mother. When she began her career as an actor, she went on to become an infant model. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her performance as The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career in 1958 by appearing in her debut in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. She was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). In 1959, she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female for the movie The Light in the Forest. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award again for the most promising youngcomer of female the following year in the film Blue Denim.
